Forest Thigpen

Forest Thigpen is the Senior Advisor for Empower Mississippi, a nonprofit organization dedicated to removing barriers to opportunity. He is involved in Empower’s strategy development, public policy research and advocacy, government relations, and community engagement.

Forest has more than four decades of public policy experience, having served for 10 years in Washington DC for Senator Thad Cochran before moving to Jackson to open Mississippi Center for Public Policy in 1993, where he served as its President until 2017.
